The Sallie B. Johnson scholarship is in honor of Greater Praise Christian School's founder and Principal Administrator.

Mrs. Sallie B. Johnson-Frye was the daughter of a poor sharecropper in Moscow, TN with more dreams than money.

Despite many obstacles and difficulties, Mrs. Johnson-Frye went on to graduate from Fayette Ware High School in Somerville, TN. The first high school graduate in her large family she went on to obtained degrees and special certifications fromTennessee State University in Nashville, TN., the University of Memphis and  the University of California

Since 1973, Mrs. Johnson-Frye has dedicated her life to the teaching profession and helping others.

The SBJ scholarship will be awarded to a deserving female minority undergrad pursuing a career in Elementary Education.

*Applicants must demonstrate a financial need and academic excellence.

 Award amount $1,500. Annual Application deadline: March 21st.

**Preference will be given to students from Fayette County, Tennessee.
