Complete Home School Program
 
To obtain a high school diploma from Greater Praise Christian Academy, students must successfully complete at least 21 credits of high school coursework. If a home school student is college bound or not, he or she must complete 21 credits and obtain a certain ACT score.
Home school students up to 19 years of age can earn a high school diploma from Greater Praise Christian Academy by demonstrating they have fulfilled our high school graduation requirements. This can be accomplished in several ways:
  • If your home school student has previously attended a public or private institution you must have an official transcript sent to us, which should include a signature and school seal.
  • If your home school student has previously attended a home school program such as Gateway Christian Home School Program ,Homelife Academy Home School Program or others you must send us a home school portfolio, documenting the home school student's grades, subjects, and attendance as well as provide examples of lessons, assignments, tests, quizzes, etc.
The Greater Praise Christian Academy offers 4 types of diplomas:
  1. Vocational
  2. Technical
  3. Regular
  4. Honors
 
 
Parents must report grades by the 2nd Week in June to Homeschoolreportingonline.com
 
Independent Study Program
 
Greater Praise Christian Academy is open to K-12 students whose families are committed to providing a minimum of four to six hours per day of instruction within the home.
Credentialed teachers work with families to ensure curriculum meets Tennessee state content standards and to assess student achievement.
Families participating in the Greater Praise Christian Academy may choose to access student accounts to utilize a variety of curriculum, services (tutoring, lessons, field trips, etc.,) Internet access, computers and HP printers. Student budgets for curriculum, services, and technology will be up to $600 for a full year enrollment (prorated for less than full year.)
In addition, ISP provides a variety of classes, seminars and group activities to provide additional opportunities to build relationships with other Home School students and families.
In order to meet college requirements, a high school student in Greater Praise Christian Academy’s ISP may enroll in community college classes, upon approval from a school counselor.
